This was an exciting day for Captain Morgan and Guests! Not that every trip isn’t exciting… but this was a stand out! HUGE Red Grouper were fighting to get on the boat. These clients caught limit before 11AM!!!! They continued to fish and catch and release until they were physically exhausted. Afterwards, they returned back to the dock and relived the day in their minds as they waited for Captain Morgan to filet their haul! Could not have had a more perfect day! Fish On! Weather was great again today! Captain Morgan got all the guests prepared and loaded on to the Miss Pass-a-Grille bright and early. It was another great haul for this charter boat 12-15 miles out into the Gulf of Mexico! Captain Morgan even took a little break to snag this pretty guy! Gag Grouper are starting to make a nicer show offshore. All in all, another great day! Captain Morgan is running the local party boat “Miss Pass-a-Grill” these week while Captain Randy takes a vacation! The boat was full of anxious people that were ready to catch some fish! After a 12 mile run out into the Gulf, lines were in the water and fish were already getting pulled on deck! Fish on could be heard being yelled at every corner of the boat! The fish were on fire. Captain Morgan set out of Maximo Marina at 7am with 6 gentlemen in from out of state on vacation. The clients had booked a trip through iTrekkers and Captain Brian was ready to show them the best fishing the Bay Area has to offer. CMFA is well known for catching their limit early in the day, but this time the limit was caught before 11am! Unheard of by most charters standards! Captain Brian continued to let the clients fish well on into after lunch time. This group was stoked to see that Captain Morgan was able to consistently produce fish after fish! Once this group had had enough and their arms were aching, the Captain headed back to the coast where he filleted and bagged this groups fish and sent them on their way back to a local hotel with dinner and some great pictures and stories! Captain Brian Morgan set off from Maximo Marina in St. Petersburg at 7am. After having to cancel the previous days charter due to foul weather, it was nice to have a calm day out on the Gulf of Mexico. Captain Morgan’s clients stopped by a buoy on the way offshore and used some sabikis to catch some live bait. They should have known the way the bait were biting, that it was going to be a good day! After the second stop on this fishing adventure, it was as if someone hit a mother nature switch and told all the fish to eat up!! Triple and Double hookups were happening left and right and all the guests enjoyed watching and competing with who was going to reel in the biggest catch. Keeper after keeper Red Grouper were put into the “penalty box”. Porgy, Gag Grouper, and various types of Snapper were brought on board and even a Triple Tail was spotted! What a great day out on the water! Captain Morgan took out some women from visittampabay.com and iTrekkers.com for a full day fishing adventure offshore. Dolphins accompanied the group on the ride out and sea turtles said goodbye to them on their way in. Captain Morgan made sure this group caught a lot of different species. Along with various species of Snapper, Reg Grouper, and Gag Grouper were also brought on board, and even a poisonous Toadfish. These guests got to experience all sorts of marine wildlife. In addition to the dolphins and sea turtles, they saw tons of crabs, jelly fish and Remoras. Everyone had a great day and all are anxious to return! They returned to the dock where the fish were cleaned for them and unwind after a rigorous day on the water!

It was an unpleasant day out on the water. One of those days fishermen like to blame on just pure bad luck… For whatever the reason the day started slow, Captain Morgan was able to relocate and pick up some momentum and finish the day strong. It was a long one out there, but Captain Brian was determined to ensure his clients caught what was promised. While it took longer than usual on this day, it provided his guests the time window to see many species brought on board such as Mahi, Scamp Grouper, Yellowtail, Mangrove Snapper, Lane Snapper, of course Red Grouper, and Red Snapper and even a shark. Yes it did take longer to limit out, but these guests would agree it was a great trip! Look at these beauties!

 

This 4 person private charter pushed off of Maximo Marina at 6:30 am and set off to have another great adventure! As returning clients, these gentleman knew what was in store for them. They rested on their two hour ride out to the perfect depth where Captain Morgan could ensure that they would see Red flashing in the water the whole day. They rested and enjoyed the voyage while they could, because they knew that once Captain Morgan set anchor, it would be On!
